I went to this show with a group of people, some from a club cricket background and some who “hated cricket”.
The response was the same; everyone pissed themselves laughing!
The cricketers saw a lot of themselves in the characters and the non-cricketing folk related to the humour and the range of dramatic tensions. The writing and performers were a fantastic representation of the melting pot of cultures and personalities found within the average club cricket team (like “12 Angry Men”, but with VB and chicken sandwiches).
Fantastic show, would love to see it have another season!
After seeing ‘The Pavilion’ I seriously regret not following on from my suburban under 15 cricket days. Both production and cast were amazing. A joy to watch.
